Re: Help with Japan-type RR6/58/59 pick guard template

Would you mind sending a full frontal picture, 1000 pixels high (or more)?

Forum software update from 3.3.0 to 3.3.4

It's been a while since I updated the phpBB software to 3.3.0, primarily because they said the update process would be much easier afterwards. As you may recall, updating phpBB has been a problem several times in the past, once leading to a total loss of all members and messages. But I have, like we...

Re: Looking to buy a Talon II model

Welcome to the forum, and I hope you'll find one. If I were you I'd also leave a saved search on eBay, where they pop up with some regularity.

Re: New to the forum. New axe.

Did you already share the serial number so that it can be added to the serial numbers database?

Re: New to the forum. New axe.

Re: Share my Elan II (I guess...)

Oh, I forgot to tell you it's an Elan III (not II), actually. You can tell because it does not have a a Fender tremolo (rather a Floyd Rose one), and does not have two humbuckers (rather two humbuckers plus a single coil pickups).

Re: New Talon Day

I do think it's Chrome Red. Frost Red tends to be almost a bit pink in artificial light. Thanks for the detailed low-down on this guitar. I will be added to the Serial Numbers database this weekend.

Re: Which humbuckers?

I contacted DiMarzio last week and this is what they replied: I believe the bridge pickup was a Super 3 (DP152). There should be a model number on the baseplate. The DC resistance is very high, over 18Kohms. I don’t know if all Talons had the same pickups. It’s possible the earliest models did not h...
