I hope you can find the new owner and get the serial info from him. The old board (unfortunately) has not been archived. Had I been able to do that, I would probably have been able NOT to have to abandon it during the Update Disaster Of 2017...

I have deleted the dark green colour theme so new everything is always the light/blue prosilver theme. Although it doesn't fix the phpBB bug, it does fix your particular problem. Plus the emoticons look better on a light background, and hardly anyone used the dark green colour theme.

I think that might be a bug in phpBB. I don't know how to fix that.
